About Us

Gill arrived in the UK some 30 years ago when her love of cooking took her to the Cordon Bleu School of Cookery London. She then pursued her catering career in Edinburgh where a diversity of catering functions led her to establish her own catering business firstly as Gill Johnson Catering and then to her present title. 

Gill endeavours to bring the warmth and vibrancy of her native South Africa into her catering. She is dedicated to bringing only the best of food to you - and wherever possible will create a dish especially for to you, her valued customer.

Gill Orde in Catering provides two separate catering services as well as running coffee shops at Mellerstain House, near Gordon, at Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre, just off the A68 and The Quill at Abbotsford House near Melrose.

Our 'Outside Catering' service caters for private and corporate functions with up to 250 guests and, also, offers a party planning service if required.

‘Cottage Cuisine’ provides gourmet packaged, reheatable meals for delivery within a 20 mile radius of Kelso.
