Mellerstain Tea Room

Set in the courtyard of Mellerstain House, the Tea Room offers a wide variety of freshly prepared cuisine. One can enjoy a glass of chilled white wine along with one of our Mellerstain platters such as the ‘Ghillies’; home-made smoked trout pate with Galloway oat cakes and salad. Alternatively, after a walk around the splendid 18th century house and award winning gardens, you could reward yourself with a little indulgence from our selection of tempting cakes and desserts or, to be really sinful, have one of our deliciously rich cream teas.

The Tea Room is able to cater for larger groups as well, but prior notice is required to ensure that we can give you a fully satisfying service.

Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre

The Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre, just outside Jedburgh on the A68, enables the whole family to enjoy and understand the Borders countryside - whatever the weather. With a number of activities/events, ranging from Teepee building and guided walks through the countryside to the fascinating and informative exhibitions indoors, Harestanes is a great family day out.

This family atmosphere is present in the Tea Room too. Our menu features many family favourites as well as a special ‘Children’s Platter’ packed full of healthy tit-bits and kids’ treats. Or perhaps some of the famous Borders-produced Doddingtons ice-cream would tickle your palette? So, after exploring the wilderness, come and soothe your aching limbs with sweet treats and delicious food.
